I haven't followed this series for a while, but I really appreciate them for utilizing the full potential of modern animation technique. They actually made Geiersburg warp experiment to be a dramatic historical moment compared to the original. I also love that little detail of the command ordering surrounding ships to move away before the experiment. It makes it really look like a complex and giant undertaking.

I think DNT shines with the first warp scene and the original for the second warp not because of the CGI (although admittedly, the CGI made the first one really good) but because of a writing rule on tension.

To "feel" the impact of witnessing an event, the POV character must be directly endangered by the consequences of the event, or the event itself. In the DNT warp, we see a lot of the nameless ships have voices (and thus have a POV for a few seconds) and see first hand the dangers of the massive warp. The same goes for Reinhard'd fleet, as the Brunhildr itself was shaken significantly because of the warp. The original does not do this well since it's just a few characters looking at a screen.

BUT, the original does the warp into the Iserlohn Corridor SO MUCH BETTER because of the apparent danger that the nameless bridge crew were facing. Not only were they destroyed, but they also stumbled upon a massive fucking fortress with a patrol force.

DNT really hit home for me over the original

OVA had better writing, but DNT had the best graphics.

The new thesis does well in the graphic department, although i kind of dislike the amount of close ups

The old one does spectacularly on the second jump out. It just hits the size and impact of the fortress. Albeit the first jump lacks a bit of bravado like another pointed out

New one certainly wins in looks. But the older is more subtle and realistic. In the original it is understood that the Geiersburg warp was only the first step to recapturing Iserholn. But in the new one Reinhard immediately and dramatically declares war after the successful test? hold up there, buddy.

ユリシーズの名シーンが後続作品のエンディングにないとは、マジか！？

I much prefer the Ova’s character focus, with Reuenthal and Mittermeyer's insights, opinions and anxiousness being the highlight. No one actually cares about the Geiersburg Warp itself. it’s simply a means to an end. A tool. It’s not supposed to be a “hype” moment. It either succeeds and Reinhard moves on with the plan, or it fails and Schaft gets punished for causing needless losses. DNT continues to choose the wrong things to accentuate.

The new scene is atractive, but THE old one is effective. I think old team put more passion, time, engament and thinking in to this adaption. Anime needs to be a well made story told by a video, not a book put in to montion.
For the "look" the only important thing is comprehensive symbolism – graphics, human brain will make the rest.
Anyway… Expressions and voices are mostly better, probably, but it's better to badly express good writing, than greattly express bad writing.

OVA: Ships are pretty diverse together in technology, class, shape, year of commission, colors and sizes.
DNT: One big, One small, just change it color and little upgrade on existing ship for the famous ship/ admiral.

So far, I've avoided Die Neue These as I felt somewhat at odds, having relished on the original. But seeing this made so magnificently, I think I'll give it a try after all….

ロイエンタールの「ここに爆弾〜」の台詞は旧作ではカットされたところですが、彼のラインハルトへの複雑な感情、それに対して気が気でないミッターマイヤーの気遣いは旧作がよく表れている。
ナレーションは誰かな？旧作は屋良さんだったが。
ニルソン艦長はウランフ提督と同じ大林隆之介さん。モブ以外１キャラ声優１人に拘って、男性声優を枯渇させたと言われる銀英伝ですが、この方は珍しい被り。
あとは阪さんと鈴置さんぐらい。
新作声優については色々意見もありますが、前述の通り男性声優枯渇させた旧作と比べるのは酷。ただやはり「陰険漫才」がやや省略されてしまうと残念。なぜなら、銀英伝の台詞は結構伏線ばかりなので、省略すると後々続編制作で苦労します。
たぶん、新作の構成は最終回までに伏線回収することは考えて構成していないんでしょうね。
ちなみに、ガイエスブルク要塞が出現するシーンは原作では戦艦ヒスパニオラ、指揮官はＪ・ギブソン大佐でしたが、旧作アニメではユリシーズに差し替えになっています。これは「あの艦は索敵に出すといつも敵を連れてくる」という後のムライのボヤきを引き立たせる演出でした。
ヒスパニオラのオペレーターは発見して絶句したところで場面が変わるので、ひょっとしたら撃沈したかもしれません。
新作ではイゼルローン要塞の前に突然現れるという演出に変えたようですね。

The problem is that hand drawn is better, the CGI does not fit with the rest of the setting so it stands out as looking worse than everything else. The characters in the new one look more generic and look more alike than in the original. If you showed me the characters from the new one they would match any generic anime. The original is far more subtle and generally that's what makes it better. Flash over substance. This shit looks like a video game in the middle of my anime.

The OST version seems closer to what it would actually be like in reality, as if there were an actual journalist at the scene, while the DNT version seems like the epic retelling for storybook versions of a pivotal moment in history.

Obviously, the latter is more of a spectacle. So, as a consumer of this fictional story adaption, I enjoyed the DNT version more. But if we were to grade it against the story's idea of itself being a documentary (the OST stuck by this philosophy), then the OST version is better.

That said, the OST's version of the "Geiersburg arrives in Iserlohn Corridor" scene was miles better. You could really see the different readiness states, expressions and quick decisions of each of the unnamed ship bridge crew. The music seemed fitting as well; sort of sombre and classical, fitting the dangerous escalation in the story yet also documentary-like feel of the adaptation. The DNT version seemed forced; what are those 3 commanding officers (Patrichev, Fish something and the other guy) doing just standing there in a line, just waiting for something big to happen (when they don't know if something big is going to happen?).

Overall, I still think the OST adaptation is the better story. Its graphics are really ancient by modern standards, but they've servicable for a good story. DNT makes everyone seem like 10 years younger and its so jarring.

Mmm I can't really decide which i like more…

新旧での比較についてリメイク版をあまり受け入れられない点もあるだろうが時代が変わるにつれ流行等や仕様も変わってくるのでそこは難しいが受け入れるしかないとは思っている。 例えば声優の演技が下手との声も聞くが個人的にDNTは全体的に落ち着いた感じで現代の雰囲気にあっている気がする。 DNTのキャラデザに関しては最近の若者に興味を持って欲しいという意図なのかもしれないですね。

DNT版の方が旧作よりも専門用語が複数飛び交ってて臨場感があるように感じる。
ただ戦艦ユリシーズが要塞ワープアウトに出くわすシーンが差し替えられたのはちょっと残念。
DNTだと戦艦ユリシーズ、ただのネームド モブ艦になっちゃってるのがなぁ……外観は好きなんだけど。

Warp test scene was great in DNT, but the scene of Geiesburg entering Isehron's corridor was HUGE downgrade compared to OVA. Also, it's a bummer that DNT left out mobility test from novel and OVA completely. For some reason I always loved that scene.

神作中的神作. 日本小說家田中芳樹創作的太空歌劇.
30年日本可是無人不知無人不曉. 3人中就有2人看過.

這版是2018的重製版. 現時出到第4季, 共48集
(舊版1988年 共110集+外傳52集+劇場版2+特別篇“黃金之翼”)

新版有不少改動. 盡量利用3DCG來節省成本, 來做出非常龐大的戰鬥場面. (品質也非常高, 看得出預算充足.)

把古代戰爭的戰術, 陣型等概念運用到太空作戰中也是一大魅力.

但經常發現有人問為何都宇宙戰了, 戰鬥還是平面.
就讓我趁機紙上談兵一下, 說說自己觀點. (帶好頭盔😘)

人類離開地球才800年左右. 技術還在剛剛開始.
能量能源分配: 使用能源不明 (找不到). 但動畫中看出要分配.
用FTL: Faster Than Light做例子. 本身能量10點. 2用在了基礎 (醫療 氧氣 重力系統等) 2用在了(格納庫 動力系統等) 其他用在 攻擊 防禦等武器系統.
一般戰術可能有高速移動 (2基礎 6動力 2防禦)
全力攻擊 (2基礎 8攻擊)
全力防禦 (2基礎 8防禦罩)
後退 (2基礎 5動力 3防禦罩)
捨命 (引擎全開, 能量+2 [反正都捨命了還怕什麼過熱] 1基礎 3動力 8攻擊)
可以看出, 比起走位. 還不如把能量都用在要點上.
再加上走位後, 你對A目標是有利, 但遠方B目標可能看見你弱點.

船體設計: 船體設計極大決定了可用的戰術. 兩方都是正規設計, 重心在船頭. 所以開戰就是面對面. 宇宙是立體, 但只要對方頭對著你 你與他永遠還是平面. 2點1線, 3點1面.

船種: 巡洋艦, 驅逐艦, 飛彈艦, 炮艦, 輸送艦, 修理艦, 盾艦, 空母, 偵察艦等. 不是所有都能做前鋒. 要互相配合. 所以陣營大多一開始都是密集式方陣. 不要把其他動畫各種能單獨戰鬥的超級戰艦套進這片中.

再加上戰埸還有通訊干擾, 分太散就會失去組織能力. 也使防空能力減弱, 成為空軍肥料. (一般戰艦都有30左右的飛機, 精英就能單吃戰船)

再假設敵方全方位包圍. 我方只要攻某一方向. 敵方大部份部隊就會失去射程, 只能用最短路程去追. 追擊期間慢慢還是會集中, 還會失去大量部隊. (一點突破戰術)

當然戰術是假設大家性能和數量差不多. 差太多的話都不用戰術了.
重點: 比起研究戰術合不合理, 還不如慢慢欣賞動畫 看細節. 還有 作者的表達.

這片是真的有意思. 當然某些劇情說得力不夠好.
很多時候都是兩邊有神經病, 但現實何其不是這樣.🤪

銀英阿，真是超有情懷的，不得不說新版的畫面真的很棒，但是舊版人物的韻味也很讚阿。

Why people seeing it now think it about modern events and same in the past two decades when it written three decades ago.

It hard for many people to actually grasp how big the battles in this show are. Millions die in many. And of course planets can get nuclear bombed to oblivion. And the fighters make all but the top futuristic Gundams look sad as they are massively more manoeuvrable. And there are stupid numbers of them in the battle.

And that just to compare with other shows. The greatness is not that but the study of man's behavior.

Bastard!! is one of these shows that is extremely honest with its viewer from the start. Its cover and title are pretty much summarizing it. It's a dark fantasy world with monsters, magic, violent fights, that has tons of metal music references. But most importantly : its main character is an absolute bastard.

Story 6/10

The plot in Bastard!! is definitely its main weakness. The first half has a pretty basic story. Its narration is simple and a bit repetitive, making it almost an excuse to draw the characters, jokes and battle scenes. But it's not necessarily a problem. While not being the most interesting show in the universe, it is still decent enough to be credible.

The second half, however, is much more complicated. Around Volume 13, the manga takes an insane turn, almost erasing everything that has been established before with a massive plot twist. And honestly, this is not even that big of a deal. The real issue with the plot at this moment… is not even the plot itself, but the narration. It makes the manga seems way more complicated than it really is, and unless you're really invested in the story, you're most likely gonna lose yourself between the chapters.

Art 10/10

Following its weakness, let's now talk about Bastard!!'s strongest category : its visual.
At the beginning, Hagiwara's drawing was already good. While definitely not the most detailled art, it has its charm, and really feels like an old-school work that might attract a lot of people.

However, the more the years have passed, and the more Hagiwara's art has improved, to the point where it feels like a different manga with its most recent volumes. It went from a pretty charming, old-school art to being one of the best in the industry.

Fun fact : Daisuke Ishiwatari, Guilty Gear video game series' creator, took Hagiwara's work as an inspiration for his game series' character design.

Character 10/10

Bastard!! is one of these work that is heavily centered on its main character. And in its case, it is absolutely amazing, because even if every other character was bad, Dark Schneider's greatness would make it so this section would still have this score.

Dark Schneider (also known as Darsh, or D.S. because of how long his name is) is an absolute giga chad. He is violent, ruthless, arrogant to the point where it makes Gilgamesh from the Fate series look like the humblest person in the world. He doesn't give a fuc* about everything except himself, and is the embodiment of the seven deadly sins, especially Pride and Lust.

He is badass, charismatic, and extremely funny because of how absurd of a character he is. And while being incredibly overpowered, he doesn't feel like a mary sue for a bunch of reasons, which is great because mary sue suck.

Other than him, some secondary characters are pretty cool and interesting in the first half. It's not as much the case in the second part, but not the point of being bad : one in particular has a lot of screen time and development. But Darsh is definitely the star of the show.

Enjoyment 10/10

Fun is the best word to describe Dark Schneider's journey. The fighting scenes are impressive, the show is very funny, its main character is super badass and very refreshing compared to MC you see in other shows.

Overall 9/10

The only thing you need to keep in mind with Bastard!! to appreciate it fully is to realize what you're going to read, because you're really not supposed to take this manga seriously. It is a completely unique and different experience from what you might have watch or read before. But as said at the beginning of this review, its cover and title make it fairly easy.

I started FGO when I first started highschool, and now I'm in university so it was nice growing up with the game, made me tear up a bit

The moment that hype me up was the moment where all the heroic spirit goes to the throne of heroes, well we never actually know what the throne scene really looks like maybe it just me describing it.

Teared up a little to this myself. Watching this makes me remember how Fate Grand Order used to be the most profitable and popular gacha game for good reason in a time before Genshin popularized the genre and introduced many people to the world of anime mobile gaming. I've been playing these games for years, and I can definitely still say with absolute certainty that Fate Grand Order is my favorite out of all them. The gameplay is definitely outdated; everyone can see it from a mile away, but the characters and story are simply unparalleled. I have no doubt if Fate made a game in a similar vein to Genshin, it would blow everyone away. Here's hoping it keeps surprising us all wherever it takes us next. It's been a pleasure being a part of this fantastic journey.

I waited so many years for the series to continue… I'm so glad 😭

I've waited 6 years. It was my favorite anime all along. I even used rin as my internet name until now😭. I made so many animation videos, amvs and speedpaints, even fanfictions just cause I loved this anime so much. I'm so happy to hear it's coming back. I'm not as "obsessed" anymore though I'm happy i can watch one of my favorite shows again
